Junior Doula Team

Description: Join a team of experienced doulas and enjoy the benefits of on-the-job training, shadowing, and mentorship from senior doulas, a shared call-schedule, leadership and continuing education opportunities, shared marketing and administrative resources, and an established reputation for excellence in the DMV region.

Starting Date: Immediately

Salary: $500/birth

Qualifications: Applicants must have completed a recognized doula training seminar. Priority given to DONA birth doula trained applicants. No prior experience attending births required.

Job Requirements: Junior doula team members attend 3-5 births a month. The time commitments vary each week, but applicants should expect to spend 25-30 hours a week providing phone/email support for clients, coordinating and training with the DCBD team, attending meet the doula or networking events, and supporting clients at births, prenatal & postpartum visits. This job requires significant flexibility and adaptability, strong social and communication skills, a continual willingness to learn and grow, and an enthusiastic desire to support birthing families in the DMV area.

Senior Doula Team

Description: Join a team of experienced doulas and enjoy the benefits of a shared call-schedule, leadership and continuing education opportunities, shared marketing and administrative resources, and an established reputation for excellence in the DMV region.

Starting Date: Fall 2019

Salary: $900/birth

Qualifications: Senior doula applicants must be currently certified birth doulas (preference for DONA birth doulas), have attended a minimum of 70 births, and have additional birth-related training (preference for Lamaze certified childbirth educators).

Job Requirements: Senior doula team members attend 3-6 births a month. The time commitments vary each week, but applicants should expect to spend 30+ hours a week providing phone/email support for clients, coordinating and training with the DCBD team, attending meet the doula or networking events, providing mentorship to junior and shadow doulas, and supporting clients at births, prenatal & postpartum visits, and providing private or group childbirth classes. This job requires significant flexibility and adaptability, maturity and experience working in a broad range of birthing settings, strong social and communication skills, a continual willingness to learn and grow, and an enthusiastic desire to support birthing families in the DMV area.
